Suddenly remembered a dream I'd had either this morning or earlier in the week. Need to commit it to paper:

Was walking around an area which was both San Diego and London. It was cold, but warming, early Spring. Walked past Mick Jagger, (and someone else earlier -- Tom Jones? Don't remember) and continued onto a bridge. Ended up talking about Jagger; Jagger proceeds to walk along beside us (don't remember who I was with) and interjects into the conversation. I am surprised. I end up asking him about his appearance in the "All You Need Is Love" video, wake up before he can respond.

Very strange.

Death is a funny thing in comics.

The problem with death, in the Marvel and DC universes, is that it almost never sticks. The old joke goes, "the only two characters in Marvel to stay dead are Bucky [Captain America's homesexual/pedophilic sidekick answer to Robin] and Uncle Ben [Spider-Man's uncle]." Though it should be noted that Bucky appears to be alive again.

Death is cheap in the super hero universes. It has little impact on any experienced reader. And that bugs the fuck out of me.

So, I was at Virgin today and I saw two interesting things, one of which infuriated me.

1. A four-disc soundtrack to the Lord of the Rings movies has been released, and it has additional material not available on the other incarnations of the soundtrack. It retails for (hachi machi) $74.98. I WILL HAVE IT. ...just not for a long, long time.

2. A Wii game based on the movie Arctic Tale. I find this bizarre. I never would have thought of making a game based on a semi-documentary. What other games could they make now? ...actually, a Spinal Tap edition of Rock Band or Guitar Hero would be bitchin'. Or maybe they could make Devil's Playground the game. It could be in the same vein as Grand Theft Auto, but with Amish kids instead of gangsters. Or even better, a DS version of "Super-Size Me" where you use the touch screen to cram Mickey D's food into the abused gullet of Morgan Spurlock.

...I really want to see these games made. Is that sick?

And in a literary way. I dislike making posts for the sole reason of clearing emotional detritus. This isn't to say that isn't valuable, I feel better after having bitched about my bad mood already.

However, I feel like I should be trying to make everything I write, regarldess of content, somewhat artistic. But many times this journal feels entirely unwieldly for anything above "OMG, EMOEMOEMO."

Maybe it's purely contextual. Like, since I use this for the purpose of blowing off steam and "safe" bitching, it's the only thing I feel like writing when I sit down. So to break that conditioning, I should write things which are unrelated to the typical LJ angst.

So. I will.
